How does PayNexus work as a payment orchestration platform?
PayNexus is a subscription-based payment gateway that initiates payments on behalf of merchants and routes them directly to your own payment accounts. We never hold your funds - payments go directly from customers to your M-Pesa Paybill/Till or card payment providers like Stripe.
What payment methods can I connect to PayNexus?
You can connect M-Pesa (Paybill with Account Number or Till Number) for direct mobile money payments, and card payment providers like Stripe, Flutterwave, Paystack, or Pesapal. You maintain full control over your payment accounts while PayNexus handles the orchestration.
How does PayNexus ensure my payment credentials are secure?
We use bank-level encryption to store your payment account credentials securely. All credentials are encrypted at rest, accessed only through our service layer, and never exposed in UI or logs. We also use signed webhook payloads to ensure secure communication with your systems.
What are your pricing plans?
PayNexus operates on a subscription-only model with no transaction fees. We offer monthly and yearly plans with feature-based access depending on your needs for API usage, number of payment accounts, and webhook functionality. You pay a fixed subscription fee regardless of transaction volume.
How do I integrate PayNexus with my existing systems?
We provide a comprehensive RESTful API for easy integration. Each merchant receives API keys for authentication, and we support webhook notifications for real-time payment status updates. You can connect multiple payment accounts and choose which one to use for each transaction.
Will customers see PayNexus branding in payment prompts?
Currently, PayNexus branding appears in M-Pesa STK prompts because we use our shortcode for payment initiation. However, funds are routed directly to your payment accounts. We're working on implementing merchant-branded STK pushes where your business name will appear instead. For card payments, customers see your chosen provider's checkout.
